New toxin tax for petrol and diesel cars

New toxin tax for petrol and diesel cars

A NEW toxin charge which is set to be imposed on UK people and diesel cars coming in 2019 could cost drivers over £4,500 from 2019.

Drivers of certain petrol and diesel cars could face paying over £4,500 annually on the running cost of their car, due to a new charge.

In 2019 the all-new Ultra-Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) will be introduced on 8th April, which will initially cover the same area as the Congestion Charge Zone.

The ULEZ will charge motorists £12.50 to use it if their car does not meet the emissions standard. The charge for using the zone is in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
